The Story Behind the "White Bag"

Cassey Faller

There are several reasons why some of our trees and shrubs are grown in a white bag instead of a black pot.

Here at Faller Landscape, we take pride in the plants we produce.  Most trees, and a growing number of shrubs, are grown in a white grow bag called a Roottrapper.  This bag promotes healthy root growth horizontally and vertically through a process called air pruning.  In turn, this generates greater root tip surface area, resulting in water and nutrient absorption efficiency, better establishment, and increased growth rate.  Without these bags, trees can develop girdling roots, which can then cause major problems down the road.  A link to the official Rootmaker website is listed below.  We are a Rootmaker® Certified Platinum Grower.
